LSU JUST WANTED TWO FOOTBALL PLAYERS… NOW THEY MIGHT GET KICKED OUT OF THE SEC!

Ladies and gentlemen, I have officially decided that college football has lost its damn mind!

LSU started this whole thing by trying to add two football players to its roster.

TWO!

Not two Supreme Court justices. Not two nuclear scientists. Not Batman and Superman.

TWO FOOTBALL PLAYERS!

And somehow, we have gone from:

“Hey, can these guys play football?”

to:

“Should LSU be expelled from the Southeastern Conference?”

EXCUSE ME?!

What the hell happened between Monday and Tuesday?!

LSU coach Lane Kiffin wanted former Ole Miss players Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris back on the field. Both guys had signed with NFL teams as undrafted free agents, but they were trying to use another year of college eligibility.

A Louisiana judge said, essentially:

“Yeah, they can play.”

So LSU was sitting there thinking, “Okay… let's figure this out.”

And now?

The SEC is basically standing outside LSU's front door like:

“PUT THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS DOWN AND STEP AWAY FROM THE ROSTER!”

This has become the 105-man roster version of a hostage negotiation!

LSU had Wright and Harris ready to go, but the school decided not to put them on the 105-man roster because of the potential consequences.

And now LSU has decided to fill those final two roster spots with players who were ALREADY ON THE TEAM!

Cornerback Aidan Anding and defensive end Gabriel Reliford are coming back onto the roster after injuries kept them off the initial 105.

So LSU basically said:

“You know what? Forget all this legal drama. Bring the guys who already have LSU parking passes!”

And let's talk about the timing here.

LSU just beat Clemson 51-10!

FIFTY-ONE TO TEN!

You'd think everybody would be celebrating. Instead, LSU is preparing for a legal fight with the SEC over two players who may or may not be allowed to play college football.

This isn't college football anymore.

This is College Football: Law & Order!

DUN DUN!

You've got LSU. You've got the SEC. You've got attorneys. You've got judges. You've got injunctions. You've got federal lawsuits. You've got 105-man rosters.

And somewhere in the middle of all this, I'm sure somebody is just screaming:

“CAN WE PLEASE JUST PLAY FOOTBALL?!”

The SEC has already filed a federal lawsuit against LSU and amended it Tuesday. And now the conference has scheduled a meeting Thursday to vote on whether LSU's membership in the SEC should be terminated.

WAIT A MINUTE!

TERMINATED?!

Over TWO PLAYERS?!

This isn't a roster dispute anymore.

THIS IS A DIVORCE!

The SEC is basically telling LSU:

“It's not you… it's us. Actually, no. It's definitely you.”

And Lane Kiffin?

I actually understand what he's saying.

Kiffin said he believes they were fighting for what was right for the players. But then he also said the decision not to roster them was made with the “big picture of LSU and the LSU football program” in mind.

Translation:

“I like these guys. I want these guys. But I also enjoy having a job.”

Because let's be honest.

Imagine being Lane Kiffin right now.

You walk into work thinking you're coaching football. By lunchtime you're dealing with:

“Coach, the SEC is suing us.”

“WHAT?”

“Also, there's a federal case.”

“WHAT?!”

“And there's a vote Thursday about whether LSU stays in the conference.”

“WAIT… OVER WHAT?”

“Two football players.”

Lane Kiffin:

“I should've stayed in bed.”

And the players aren't exactly thrilled either.

Their attorney Ryan Downton says Wright and Harris are considering their legal options. And I don't blame them.

Imagine practicing for two days, thinking you're finally coming back to college football, expecting to play against Clemson…

…and then somebody tells you:

“Congratulations! You're not on the roster because your existence has created an interstate legal conflict.”

WHAT?!

Only in college football!

We've officially reached the point where the transfer portal needs a lawyer and the roster needs a judge.

And here's the biggest question:

How the hell did we get to a place where a football player's eligibility can potentially create a fight between a university and an entire conference?

Because this isn't just about LSU anymore.

This is about where college football is going.

Players have one set of rules. Schools have another set. Conferences have another set. Judges are getting involved. The NCAA is involved. Attorneys are involved.

And meanwhile, the football players are probably sitting there saying:

“So… am I playing Saturday or not?”

That's the part that makes this whole thing unbelievable.

College football used to be:

Run the ball. Throw the ball. Tackle somebody. Win the game.

Now it's:

File an injunction. Call your attorney. Check the roster. Talk to the conference. Go to federal court. THEN maybe throw a touchdown pass.

Ladies and gentlemen…

WELCOME TO COLLEGE FOOTBALL IN 2026!

Where you don't just need a 5-star quarterback.

You need a 5-star attorney!

And LSU?

They came into this season with a football team.

They may end up needing a legal department!

This whole situation is so crazy, I wouldn't be surprised if the SEC meeting Thursday starts with somebody saying:

“Alright gentlemen, before we discuss LSU… does anybody have a copy of the 105-man roster?”

Because apparently that's where college football is now.

THE ROSTER IS THE BATTLEFIELD!

LSU just proved college football can make you need a lawyer AND a bottle of aspirin!
