Anthony Davis Opens The Cry Closet — Lakers Traded Him, Kentucky Forgot Him, NBA “Doesn’t Love Him” … Sir, Do You Want A Hug Too?
Anthony Davis goes on Draymond Green's podcast and starts whining like he does... So Anthony Davis jumped on Draymond Green’s podcast and decided it was time not to talk basketball, not to talk strategy, not to talk wins, but to open up the Complaint Department like he just got hired as the CEO of Feelings Inc.
Anthony Davis aired out thoughts on the Lakers, the Pelicans, his college dominance, being “under appreciated” and being “forgotten."
At this point I was waiting for him to say Kentucky didn’t give him enough cafeteria options.
The Lakers Era: “They Didn’t Appreciate Me”
AD basically said he wasn’t appreciated by the Los Angeles Lakers — and honestly the man might have a point.
Because nothing says “we love you” like trading you to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Dončić faster than you can say “day-to-day injury report.”
AD helped win them a championship, played through injuries, anchored the defense, and carried stretches.
Then the Lakers were like, "Yeah that's cool…but Luka hits step-backs and argues with referees in four languages."
That’s cold. That’s NBA cold. That’s “thanks for the memories, here’s a one-way ticket” cold.
Anthony Davis probably thought he was getting jersey retirement, a statue, and lifetime courtside seats. Instead, he got, "Pack your bags — Luka just landed."
That’s like helping someone build a house and then they replace you with a younger contractor during the build.
The Pelicans Era: “They Didn’t Build Around Me”
Then AD went back to his time with the Pelicans like he was reviewing a bad Airbnb: “They didn’t build around me — I needed help.”
Sir, they tried.
They gave you guards.
They gave you shooters.
They gave you coaches.
They gave you everything except maybe emotional support animals.
At some point it sounded like Anthony Davis wanted a point guard, a center, a bench, a coach, and possibly Batman.
Then He Went FULL Emotional: “Nobody Talks About My Kentucky Season”
This is when I almost fell out of my chair.
Anthony Davis says nobody talks about his dominance at Kentucky.
NOBODY?!?! Sir, you won everything: a National Championship, Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Final Four MOP. You blocked every shot, including camera angles. And guards went into the paint and came out with trauma.
When players saw Anthony Davis at the rim, they immediately wanted to pass the ball to the popcorn vendor.
In other words, nobody forgot — even the rim still has nightmares.
Anthony Davis Wants Superstar Love… But Also Disappears Sometimes
Here’s the Anthony Davis experience:
Game 1:
40 points
20 rebounds
5 blocks
Looks like the best player alive
Game 2:
13 points
4 rebounds
Looks like he accidentally walked into the wrong arena
He’s the only superstar that makes you say, "Is this MVP Anthony Davis — or background character Anthony Davis?"
Anthony Davis is complaining about being unappreciated. Meanwhile, he was the #1 pick, won a championship, made All-NBA teams, made All-Star teams, got traded for half a franchise, then was traded for Luka.
That’s not being ignored. That’s being VERY IMPORTANT.
Teams don’t trade you for Luka if you’re irrelevant: they trade you because you’re the only guy valuable enough to get Luka.
That’s like being mad someone traded you for a Ferrari.
Anthony Davis isn’t forgotten. He isn’t ignored. He isn’t disrespected. He’s just mad the Lakers welcomed him onto their court — and then upgraded.
